CIM4.0

Mission

The competence center Competence Industry Manufacturing 4.0 (CIM 4.0) intends to be a strategic and operative support to the manufacturing enterprises oriented on the digitization of the industrial processes in the perspective of a Industy 4.0 (from design to production, from R&D to Supply chain, from security to Blockchain).

Targets

CIM4.0 aims to contribute decisively, locally and nationally, to the acceleration of the transformation process of a large share of the Italian productive system, focusing on PMI, serving as an integrated reference point as regards skills and best practices, also with training measures and practical experiences in technological areas and in industrial fields typical of the territory on Piedmont, but widespread in other Italian regions. CIM4.0 is based on the concept of “pilot lines”, or manufacturing demonstrative headings.

Thanks to its industrial partners (23 large companies) and to two big research centres with a technical and scientific expertise (Polytechnique Instituite and Turin University), the Competence will be provided, ever since its foundation, with five “pilot lines”, by which the technological growth of the innovative processes and products will be supported providing to the enterprises (particularly the PMI) a structure capable of simplifying and making more competitive the new markets’ approach.

The TRL’s role

The competence Center focuses its own work starting from the TRL5 and by developing values till the 9th, as summarized in the scheme below:
